The official definition for an apprentice is “a person who is learning a trade from a skilled employer, having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages”.
My favourite thing about being an apprentice is having such a good mixture of freedom and responsibility at the same time. What I mean by this is I have the freedom that comes with being an adult and working full time; I earn my own money, pay for my own food – and most importantly have complete freedom to spend my money on what I like. Furthermore, the responsibility; this is one of my favourite things about working full time. Because I earn my own money I am therefore responsible for how I act, what I say – and as quite an immature person I feel like this is helping me grow my personality as well as my career.
But for me, one of the things I enjoy most about the job is the mixture between on-site work and being the office. It gives a unique perspective into both aspects of the industry and allows me to broaden my overall knowledge of the logistics of the business as well as how businesses function in general.
